I took part in this years Swimathon for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Having moved back to an area with decent pools, many of you know that I've started swimming a mile a day again. I took the plunge and decided to get back on the Swimathon campaign. I tried to raise £300+ for cancer care by swimming over 5 miles! I hoped to swim 8.8KM, the height of Ben Nevis!
Good News!
I managed it...Not only did I swim the 8.8KM, I managed it in 180 minutes exactly with my dad as my counter. I also succeeded in raising the money I needed. I beat my target and managed to raise over £385!
I've got the bug...
Now that I've done that, I'm going to take part in next years' Swimathon but I'm now also going to submit for the Great North Swim next September. The bad news is that entering the GNS is very expensive. Each charity asks for £175 minimum plus £30 entrance fee and wetsuit hire of £80 plus a deposit of £40 so, I need to raise some money to put aside so I can enter that next year!

We know you can do it and we were both very proud of you when you did it before. Good luck for this time around - no doubt a lot of sleeping will be had afterwards!
